Issue 4 Extras: Super Late Asset Examples

March 9th, 2013

So yea, I just realised these didn't get posted. Totally my bad guys (Tolly). I apologize.

Well, better late than never as they say. :P

So first we have Rees' asset example:

Next we have Mike's Asset example:

In this example, Daredevil is in a bad situation, trapped underwater by Stilt-Man. Rolling against the Doom Pool, he tries to create an asset. He is successful, and manages to create, 'Puncturing Glass Bottle', which he is able to use to damage Stilt-Man's hydraulics!

Finally we have my example:

Well, you know what time it is... Damage Control time!

Quick heads up:  We have infrno.net coming on board as our sponsor, so we don't have to pay our server costs anymore! Yay!

So, we have a lot going on this month. In our game mechanic segment we have our friend Bryan Hitchcock join us to discuss Assets, He is a player in my Initiative game, as well as a player in Athey's Civil War game. We cover assets, how to make em, and why you want them.

Next, we tackle Daredevil in our Marvel lore segment. Mike & Rees really go to town on this one, with me acting as moderator.

Finally we have our In Play segment, and we have Mike as Spider-Man & Rees as Daredevil, trying to stop Stilt-Man from robbing an Armored Truck.

Come along and join in the fun. Be sure to send any questions or comments to :  damagecontrolmarvels@hotmail.com

Damage Control Issue 3: You Want Live? We Got It!

January 11th, 2013

DamageControl3.jpg

Hey folks, it's that time of the month again. This time around we have a special treat for you. We have Issue 3 which was recorded live at InfrnoCon, over at Infrno.net. We had a lot of fun and we hope you enjoy it as well.

Instead of a set topic in each segment, we do a more freeform discussion within each segment. In the mechanics segment we talk about our favorite mechanics in the game, and ask our guests what they think.

Next we go to the Marvel Lore segment, and we talk about what is making us excited currently in the world of Marvel Comics.

Finally, we have a full on 'In-Play' segment, where my co-hosts and our special guests from the convention go up against a Rampaging  Hulk.

Besides myself and my two usual co-hosts, we are joined by two con attendees, Eric & Robyn, as well as one of my co-hosts from the Super Sonic Super Show, Hunter.

Mike plays Daredevil, Rees plays Mr Fantastic, Eric plays Thor, Robyn plays Ms Marvel, & Hunter takes on the role of Spider-Man.

Can these New York state of mind Heroes keep a Rampagin Hulk from destroying Central Park? Listen to this issue of Damage Control to find out!

damagecontrolissue2.jpg

Well, it's that time of the month, and we are happy to present to you Damage Control Issue 2. This time we cover Milestones in our Mechanics segment, Secret wars in our Marvel Lore segment, and finally I run Mike & Rees through some roleplay scenes where they unlock Milestones using Secret Wars characters. We have a blast, and the show is a little more free form this time. Be sure to leave us comments so we know if you like it.

We also discuss InfrnoCon 8, and the fact that we will be hosting a live taping of our Podcast, right from the virtual Con floor. To be a part of it, simply go to http://www.infrno.net/publishers/Margaret-Weis-Productions/products/Marvel-Heroic-Roleplaying-Basic-Game/games/3159-damage-control-a-marvel-heroic-podcast to get info on the event and gain access to the virtual table we will use for the show. We will talk mechanics, Marvel Lore, and then I will run Rees, Athey and 6 audience members through a MHR scenario I have ready for the show. It will be a blast!  Be sure to come. We welcome as many people as want to come listen and ask questions. The game page says 10 open seats, but we welcome as many as would like to come.

Hope you all enjoy it. It is a bit longer than last time, and even then we didn't discuss everything I would have liked, but we don't want these things turning into a 4 hour ordeal. ;)   We try to be entertaining but also to the point. Anyway, be sure to leave comments so we know what you like about the show and what you don't like as much. See you next month! (Or Earlier if you come to InfrnoCon 8!)

Issue 2 Extras: Secret Wars Spider-Man

December 7th, 2012

secret_wars_spiderman_moc_c-8_5_inner_syb.jpg

Now we come to Spider-Man in the Secret Wars. I tried to give you two options with the datafile. It starts as the classic Red & Blue Suit Spider-Man, but I added an option for when the Watcher wants to introduce the Black Suit as an Unlockable, and how it would work. I hope you find it useful and enjoy it!

Issue 2 Extras: Secret Wars Colossus

December 7th, 2012

3.jpg

Next up is Colossus from Secret Wars. I try and reflect the fact that he is torn about his feelings for Kitty Pride & Zsaji. I gave him a SFX that lets you use emotional stress to get a surge of extra power by using your emotional stress(caused by his love problems maybe? :D ) in your die pool. I also tried to reflect his getting injured and them having trouble healing him with the limit of Difficult Recovery. Anyway, look it over and enjoy!
